Trash is generated one piece at a time. Shrink film has to be unwrapped from the outside of the box before the box can be opened, and the shrink film has to be put down before the box can be opened and the packing material can be pulled out.
All of these steps don’t happen at the same time, but; each step generates a piece of waste that has to go somewhere. The secret is to have the right containers in the right spot. It may take two. It may require aim. The shrink film on the left, the cardboard on the right.
It doesn’t have to take extra work. It just has to make sense and be easy.
The work is already done.
